As an international institute, the Istituto Lorenzo de’ Medici continually seeks to promote a deep respect for different cultures and nationalities.
Ten years ago, the Institute launched an art exhibition called Art is in the Square involving its art and design students. The event was a celebration of the artistic achievements of the Institute’s students, of cultural diversity, and of the historical center of Florence.
Once again today, students of the Istituto Lorenzo de’ Medici will display their artwork selected by experts and professionals: Marco Crivellin (Photographer), Elisabetta Mazzei (Graphic Designer), Bettina Gelli (Architect), Cristina Cacioli (Jewelry Designer), Parisa Forooghi (Accessories Designer), Vaia Balekis (Art Curator).
Paintings, drawings, prints, sculptures, mixed media, photographs, jewelry, graphic design, architecture, interior design, and fashion design projects will be shown.
This event reflects the goal of the Institute and its teachers to help students understand that communication is an essential part of creativity. Works presented by students, therefore, belong to a cultural dialogue with the world at large.
