LdM-Marist students collaborate on Museo Stibbert exhibition
LdM – Marist students in the Master of Arts program in Museum Studies assisted in an exhibition at the Museo Stibbert on the topics of dining, banqueting and the very art of eating together from the Renaissance to the Nineteenth century.
The exhibition, titled “Conviti e banchetti. L’arte di imbandire le mense“, brings together a selection of homeware, plates, dining table accessories, silverware and table settings from a little-known part of the Museo Stibbert’s collections, placed alongside objects from important private collections. Walking through the exhibition, visitors can follow a historic itinerary focused on the transformations and trends in European feasting rituals over the course of three centuries.
LdM-Marist students in the Master of Arts in Museum Studies program worked on the exhibition from the ground up, in close collaboration with the museum’s director and curators, contributing to everything from concepts and English texts to hands-on work such as cleaning and positioning objects featured in the exhibit.
