11th International Congress of Egyptologists (ICE XI)

The congress will be an open forum for all branches of Egyptology with access for junior and senior scholars

The 11th International Congress of Egyptologists is organized by the International Association of Egyptologists (IAE), the Soprintendenza Archeologia della Toscana (Ministero dei Beni e delle Attività Culturali e del Turismo), CAMNES (Center for Ancient Mediterranean and Near Eastern Studies), the University of Florence (SAGAS department), and with the support of the Istituto Lorenzo de’ Medici.

From animal mummies to Ancient Egyptian vocabulary to Imperial Cult Temples: of intriguing topics there will be no shortage during the 11th International Congress of Egyptologists hosted by the city of Florence from 23 to 30 August 2015.

With already 700 delegates enrolled, representing the broadest range and highest standards of Egyptology, the event promises to be one of the major events in the city of Florence this summer, and of particular interest for LdM students interested in the ancient Egyptian culture.

Taking place in some of the most beautiful locations in the city of Florence, like the Salone de’ Cinquecento in the Palazzo Vecchio and the Egyptian Museum, the scientific event also presents a big opportunity for the LdM faculty, who will participate in the event and help out with the elaboration of the proceedings that will be published afterwards.
