Sciences in Florence

Fall 2015 marks the inauguration of LdM’s School of Sciences, allowing a wider range of students to benefit from studying in Italy.

Science related issues are having a growing impact on all our lives, as it is made increasingly apparent by regular public debates, by events such as the EXPO world fair in Milan, and by continued advanced research in the field. At the same time, Italian excellence in the science realm is confirmed by the list of Nobel Prize winners and the global presence of Italian practitioners in this field, including figures like Leonardo da Vinci, Galileo, Vincenzo Viviani, Alessandro Volta, and Enrico Fermi.

Thanks to special agreements with major universities, LdM students in the field of sciences can work with expertly prepared faculty while utilizing professional lab facilities. In Florence, students attending either a long-standing program in art restoration, such as a Marist-LdM bachelor degree or an LdM Certificate Program, or those participating in a Study Abroad semester will have the opportunity to enrich their study experience with particular chemistry courses.
