Sociology is the study of human groups, organizations and societies and the similarities and differences among them. It was born of the desire to use scientific and empirical analysis to the humanistic concerns of the social world. At LdM students learn social theories and apply them to real-life situations.
In sociology courses at LdM, students carry out sociological examinations of different social phenomenon in Italy, such as the Mafia, the education system, the family, immigration and the Italian-American experience, Italian television and contemporary Italian culture.
