Fashion Marketing and Merchandising

Florence offers a vibrant retail fashion scene coupled with a culturally rich, yet modern international perspective into the world of fashion. LdM prepares students with the business knowledge and skills needed for a broad range of career opportunities in the field of fashion, marketing, merchandising and management.

The fashion program focuses on brand identification, market strategy and the dynamics of retail buying. Emerging trends are examined and implemented to meet the consumer demand for product, distribution and effective visual communication.

Students analyze brand positioning and practice entrepreneurial skills and techniques to support market trends for brands and retailers. The curriculum promotes team building skills, critical thinking, problem solving and interdisciplinary approaches to learning. Areas of study include consumer behavior analysis, buying concepts, business management and strategies within a global perspective.
