Study Abroad Program Admissions Requirements
The following admissions requirements are equally applicable to Academic Semester and Academic Year Programs, Summer Programs, Workshops, Field Schools, January Intersession, Three Cities Program.
– Students must be at least 18 years old by the start of the program
– Students must be in a good medical/psychological condition to succeed in the program
– Application Form completed and signed
– Copy of diploma, high school/university transcript or equivalent (translated into English)
– Personal Essay (reason for choosing this program, experience abroad, future goals… Please note that the personal essay is NOT requested for Summer Programs, Workshops and Field School)
– Proof of English Proficiency. Non-native English speakers are required to demonstrate that they have reached a high-intermediate level in the English language skills, with certification or other evidence equivalent to the following minimum overall TOEFL scores: Paper Based Test 550+, Computer Based Test 213+, or Internet Based Test 80+
– Proof of Payment
Please note that for the Three Cities Program, Archaeology Field School and STEM courses, students must have completed one year of university by the start of the program. Acceptance of late applicants is subject to available space in the program.

One Year/Two Year Certificate Program Admissions Requirements
The admission requirements listed below apply to the following certificates:

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS
– Students must be at least 18 years old by the start of the program
– Students must be in a good medical/psychological condition to succeed in the program.
– Application Form completed and signed
– Copy of diploma, high school/university transcript or equivalent (translated into English)
– Personal Essay (reason for choosing this program, experience abroad, future goals)

Please note that for the Fashion Marketing and Merchandising Certificate students must have completed one year of University by the start of program.
Portfolio Evaluation
Students with prior knowledge of the selected field of study may be exempt from the beginner level in the first semester of the Certificate Program after submitting a portfolio of their works to be assessed and approved. The second semester of each Certificate takes place in the spring semester only.To apply for the second year of the LdM Certificate, otherwise called Professional/Advanced Certificate Programs, students must have a solid background in their requested field of study. The following are required in addition to the above-listed materials:
– LdM Previous Studies Form – Please contact [email protected] for the appropriate form
– Digital Portfolio of 10 examples of your projects/ work. – Please note an example of work for all techniques included in selected certificate must be submitted.
Non-beginning Certificate and Professional/Advanced Certificate applications will be considered pending until all required materials have been submitted and reviewed by the LdM Admissions Committee.
Students who exempt the first semester are still applicable to obtain the certificate diploma, if they successfully complete the program.
Acceptance of late applicants is subject to available space in the program.

US Bachelor's Degree Admissions Requirements
Complete Application
Official transcript from Secondary School/High School or University (official English translation into US system)
Personal Essay
Two letters of recommendation (one letter for university transfer students)
Activity sheet/Résumé/Curriculum Vitae
Official results of the SAT or ACT exam if applicants want the Admission Committee to consider their scores. (Marist is SAT/ACT test optional)
English proficiency exam results for non-native English speakers (TOEFL or IELTS)

US Master of Arts Degree Admissions Requirements
• Complete Application
• Three letters of recommendations
• Current résumé
• Written statement of purpose
• Official bachelor’s degree transcript (official English translation into the US system)
• English Proficiency Exam results (for non-native English-speaking students) one of the following exams is required.
TOEFL – Students must submit a minimum score of 550 on the paper based TOEFL exam or a 213 on the computer based TOEFL or an 80 on the Internet based TOEFL exam.
IELTS – Students must submit a minimum score of 6.5
All test scores must come directly from the Testing Service to Marist College. Note: the Marist report code is 2400. Copies of test scores will delay the admission process since an I20 will not be issued without official documents.
* Please note: TOEFL or IELTS scores must be less than two years old from the first day of class at the proposed term of entry in order to be valid.
The Museum Studies degree enrolls students for the Fall start only.
There are two application deadlines, please choose one:
• Early Decision January 15th
• Regular Decision April 1st

Italian Language Course Admissions Requirements
Italian Language courses have no special admission requirements, but students must be at least 18 years old by the start of program. Acceptance into the program will be confirmed after application form (completed and signed) and proof of payment have been received by LdM.
Please note that students are enrolled in the most appropriate level on the basis of an entrance test upon arrival at LdM.
ADMISSIONS PROCESS
Applicants not seeking US credit should follow the steps below:
1. CHOOSE LdM LOCATION AND PROGRAM
a. Select your LdM program and campus:
• Study Abroad or Certificate Program
• Florence, Rome, Tuscania, or Three Cities
2. COMPLETE & RETURN THE APPLICATION FOR YOUR PROGRAM
a. Complete your application
b. Send in your application components listed in selected program to LdM International Enrollment Office by mail, fax, or email within the application deadline for your session(s).
c. LdM International Enrollment Office processes applications on a rolling admissions basis. Students are typically notified of the admissions decision within one to two weeks of receipt of a complete application.
d. Students can be admitted only upon the receipt and review of a complete application and proof of payment by the application deadline.

POST-ACCEPTANCE PROCESS
After receiving an acceptance email, students should follow the post-acceptance procedure below.
1. PASSPORT & STUDENT VISA
a. Make sure your passport is current and does not expire within three months of the last day of the LdM program of your choice. If you do not have a current passport, apply for one as soon as possible.
b. Determine whether or not a student visa is required for your program: http://vistoperitalia.esteri.it/home/en. Select “Study : Vocational training” as the reason for visit. If a student visa is required, begin the visa application process through your region’s Italian Consulate. Students are responsible for obtaining the student visa.
2. LdM GRANTS
LdM offers small grants based on academic merit and financial need for semester and academic year Study Abroad and Certificate Programs. Qualified grant applicants must have applied to the LdM Study Abroad or Certificate Program of their choice by the appropriate deadline. Grant applicants must submit two letters of recommendation from either a professor or from an individual who has supervised the applicant in an academic or working capacity and all the relevant documents requested on the application form. The letters must be from two different individuals. Grant applications are due by the program application deadline. Please contact LdM to request the Grant Application.
3. HOUSING
Students should indicate on their LdM application whether or not they are interested in securing housing through LdM. Housing information and forms will be provided upon acceptance to LdM. Students must return all housing forms and materials by the application deadline or immediately upon acceptance to the program. For more information about LdM Housing Service, please click here
4. PRE-DEPARTURE INFORMATION
ONLY following the receipt of all required forms and payment, LdM will send out informational pre-departure materials with packing lists, important steps to take, information on your host city, and more.

Certificate of Academic Performance
LdM Certificate of Academic Performance is released by the Registrar’s Office within one month after the end of each academic term and issued to the student’s designated recipient. All classes registered for and grades received will appear on each student’s LdM Certificate of Academic Performance. LdM reserves the right to withhold the Certificate of Academic Performance and/or housing deposit of students who violate contract agreements related to housing and/or academic issues (i.e., any balance or debt incurred) and/or whose behavior is considered detrimental towards the institute and/or towards other students. Additional copies of the Certificate of Academic Performance can be requested and issued for a fee. Please contact [email protected].
