B.P.S. IN FASHION DESIGN

Studying fashion design also means heading down a path toward growth and self-awareness that leads to the ability to understand what exactly your strong points are and what your own role can be, not only in the fashion industry, but also in the world. The Marist-LdM fashion program begins with history of fashion, developing techniques for fashion figure drawing, then discovering how to bring these designs to reality through a variety of fashion techniques: paper models, draping, sewing, embroidery, knitwear, printing, designing accessories, and more.

The Marist-LdM faculty realizes that the world of fashion is a highly competitive field, and offer students the chance to learn by working with faculty who are not only teachers but well connected industry professionals. These teachers leverage their connections to help students develop a broad understanding of all aspects of the fashion industry. Therefore the Marist-LdM fashion program allows students to not only learn design but also to meet all the challenges of working in the real fashion world, such as collaborating with photographers, finding models, and organizing publicity. The final result is a picture of the unified techniques acquired through this educational process.

The Marist-LdM Fashion department is fully equipped for creative research; here you will find a library specifically focused on fashion and everything related to its research, in addition to a vast selection of printed resources available at the central LdM library. A sewing lab waits for you, equipped with mannequins and industrial sewing machines for learning all the necessary techniques used in realizing designed items. And, of course, there is also our computer lab equipped with constantly updated software. Providing students with all of the tools needed to guarantee educational standards that will produce the highest level of future fashion professionals.
